Chapter 5
“Where am I?” Vegeta asked
himself as he found himself in a room.
“Vegeta, you’re awake!”
Bulma exclaimed as she entered the bedroom with a food tray.
“How
did I get here?”
“I saw you laying unconscious in the
forests.”
“Oh yeah. I remember getting blasted by someone
while I was flying.”
“You don’t know who took you out?”
“No,
my mind was somewhere else at that time.”
“Exactly
where?”
“None of your business.”
“Whatever. Here, have
some food,” Bulma offered, handing a tray of food to Vegeta.
Vegeta snatched the food tray from Bulma and began to eat.
“We
should get out of here, they could spot us,” Vegeta said after he
ate.
“What we?”
“You’re my prisoner remember?” Vegeta
smirked.
“I don’t have much of a choice, huh?” Bulma smirked
back.
Vegeta got up from the bed and went outside with Bulma.
Bulma minimized the house back into a capsule.
“We’ll go by
foot,” Vegeta said.
“What?”
“We could get spotted easily if
we fly and we’d get shot out of the sky like ducks.”
“Okay, but you
better carry me if get tired.”
“Quit complaining woman! Now
let’s go,” Vegeta growled and they began to walk.

After
fifteen minutes of walking:
“My legs hurt,” Bulma
whined.
“Arrr. Is there anything you can do aside from
complaining and whining?” Vegeta said, annoyed. “Okay, we’ll rest
after we cross that lake,” he sighed, pointing at the lake beyond
them.
“How do we get across?” Bulma asked as they reached the
lake.
“See those stones? We’ll use them to get across, we’ll
jump,” Vegeta growled.
“What if I don’t make it and fall on the
water?”
“That’s your problem! The water is too shallow for
you to drown in anyway!” Vegeta jumped from stone to stone
gracefully and he was half way through the lake. “Come on woman,
jump!”
“Okay,” Bulma squeaked and jumped to the first stone, her
legs were shaking. She then jumped to the other and the other
with yelps in each jump. “I made it,” she panted. “Say, do you
think they’ll spot us here?” Bulma asked.
“That reminds
me. I don’t really want to do this but I have no choice.”
“Do
what?”
“Here, take my hand. I’ll share you some of my
energy,” Vegeta said, offering his hand.
“Why? I don’t even
know how to shoot energy beams.”
“Well, I can’t defeat all of
Freeza’s henchmen by myself, so I was hoping if you could help.
Anyway, you’ll also receive my knowledge as well so don’t worry about
it.”
“Whatever you say,” Bulma said and took Vegeta’s
hand.
“Close your eyes,” he whispered and Bulma obeyed him.
Vegeta concentrated, the water began to move and the breeze began to
blow harder.
“Huh?” Bulma gasped as she found herself and Vegeta
surrounded with a blue aura. She felt Vegeta’s power entering her
body and his knowledge entering her mind. She then quickly
closed her eyes again. Somehow, she gained access through
Vegeta’s mind. She saw him as a child, as a teen, and what was
planet Vegeta like. She also knew the pain stuck in Vegeta’s
heart. The pain of having your father ignore you, the pain of
having your planet destroyed, and the pain of loneliness.
The
same thing also happened to Vegeta. He saw how she and Gokou first
met, their adventures, and how she hooked up Yamcha and the way she got
treated by him. He also felt loneliness in Bulma, he understood
now why she wanted to wish for a man to love her.
“It’s done,”
Vegeta said and opened his eyes. He found Bulma staring at
him. “What is it?”
“Wow, Vegeta I never knew.”
“You
saw my mind huh?”
“Uh huh,” Bulma nodded.
“I saw your mind
too you know,” he smirked.
“You what?!!” she gasped and
blushed. Bulma somehow lost her balance and fell on Vegeta
and they both fell on the water. “Oooops, sorry,” Bulma
apologized with a fake smile. She got up from Vegeta’s body and
offered her hand to him.
“Humph,” was all Vegeta said and got
up. Both we’re soaking wet and were staring at each other.
Vegeta found himself pulling Bulma closer to him and he couldn’t explain
why. Their faces were just barely three inches away from each
other. Vegeta cupped her chin and began to slant his face to
hers.
