Chapter 3

“Are we there yet?” Bulma asked impatiently while they were flying through the sky.

“Shut up or I’ll drop you!” Vegeta growled.

“Oh yeah?  You don’t have the guts,” Bulma dared.

“Let’s find out,” Vegeta smirked and dropped Bulma.

“AAAAAAHHHHH!” she screeched as she fell.  She was about to hit the water but Vegeta
instantly caught her.

“Now shut up or I won’t catch you the next time,” he said.  Bulma kept her mouth shut for the
rest of flight until they reached a shore.  She jumped off Vegeta and kissed the ground.

“It’s good to be on dry land again... uggghhh... I can’t believe I did that,” she gagged.  Bulma got
up and gasped in surprise.  “Wow, are those the Dragon Balls?  They’re big.”

“Why, don’t Earth’s Dragon Balls look like that?”

“No, they’re about the size of your fist.”

“I guess you get puny Dragon Balls when you have a puny planet,” Vegeta laughed insanely.

“Look who’s talking,” Bulma said sarcastically.

“I’m not puny,” Vegeta spat.  He walked over to Bulma and leaned against her back, he was
about three inches taller than her.  “Who’s puny now?” Vegeta said, looking smug.

“Whatever, stupid carrot headed Saiyan,” Bulma growled with her teeth clenched.  Bulma sat
down and turned to the Dragon Balls.  “What are you going to wish for?” she asked.

Vegeta sat down beside her.  “What else?  Immortality,” he snorted.  “To fight and to conquer the
galaxy is all I want.”

“Is it?  Is all you care about is yourself?  Did you ever care about anybody?  Friends?  Family?”

“Ha ha ha ha!  In Vegeta, there’s no such things as friends or families.  All you have is yourself
and to survive, you have to be strong,” Vegeta answered.

“You know, I also tried to find the Dragon Balls in my teen years,” Bulma said.

“What were you going to wish for?”

“First I wanted a life time supply of strawberries...”

“What a waste of wish,” Vegeta interrupted.

“Shut up!  Let me finish!  I changed my mind after and wanted a prince charming instead.”

“Why wish for a mate?”

“Well, I guess, I just don’t want to be alone.  I want a man that would love and protect me as
long as I live,” Bulma explained shyly.  “Do you ever get lonely?” she asked, changing the subject.

“Me, no way,” Vegeta snorted.

“Admit it, you’re lonely.”

“I told you, I’m not!”

“Admit it vegetable head, you’re lonely.  I can see it through your eyes.”

“Okay, I do get lonely... sometimes.”  Vegeta’s stomach then grumbled and so did Bulma’s.

“I guess we’re a little hungry,” Bulma chuckled embarrassingly.

“Wait here,” Vegeta smirked.  He went to the shore and dunked his hand in the water.  He pulled
out his hand and caught two fishes.  He threw them in the air and fired a small, weak yellow
beam.  He caught the fishes and they were sizzling hot.  “Here,” he said and threw the fish at
Bulma.

“Thanks,” she smiled when she caught it and started to eat.  “Wow, this guy isn’t so bad.” Bulma
thought.

“Huh?” Vegeta gasped while he was eating.

“What is it?”

“I can feel a strong force coming!” Vegeta said looking at the sky and saw five purple auras
heading their way.  “It’s the Ginyu Force!” he growled.

“What Guinea Pigs?”

“I said it’s the Ginyu Force!  They’re Freeza’s strongest henchmen, each one as strong a I am,”
Vegeta explained.  He ran to the Dragon Balls and turned to Bulma.  “Help me throw these in the
lake,” he said as he took two Dragon Balls.

“Okay,” Bulma nodded and grabbed a Dragon Ball and threw it to the lake.  Vegeta took the
other two and threw them in the lake also.

“Now, let’s get out of here!” he said, offering his hand to Bulma.

“Not so fast Vegeta!” Burter yelled from above and fired at them.

“Great!” he growled and grabbed Bulma’s arm and they flew away.

“Get them!” Ginyu commanded and his soldiers fired at Vegeta and Bulma.

“There’s no way we can escape,” Vegeta thought.  “Aha!” he cried as he noticed the water below
them.  He dropped Bulma and she hit the water.  Vegeta followed and dove down the lake.

The Ginyu Force kept firing on the water until there was a huge explosion.

“They’re finished!  There’s no way they could have survive that!” Guldo chuckled.

“Good work team.  Now let’s inform Freeza of Vegeta’s destruction,” Ginyu said and they flew
back to Freeza’s ship.

“Um, um, um,” Bulma mumbled, poking Vegeta’s back.  Vegeta made a “what do you want”
facial expression and Bulma pointed at her mouth, telling him she was running out of air.  Vegeta
shook his head and pulled Bulma’s body to his.

“I can’t believe I’m actually going to do this,” he thought in disgust.  He then kissed Bulma,
giving her more air.

“My, his lips, they’re so warm,” Bulma giggled mentally.
