Chapter 5
“Did you find him?” Bulma asked
Vegeta as he entered the cabin.
“No, I couldn’t find him,” Vegeta
sighed. “Is lunch ready?” he asked.
“It’s ready,” Bulma
answered and they started to eat.
“Did you get any help?” Vegeta
asked Bulma after shoving a spoonful of food in his
mouth.
“Yes. The forest rangers of this national park said
they would help us,” Bulma replied.
“I’m done lunch. I’ll try
to find him again,” Vegeta said, getting up from his chair.
“Good
luck Vegeta and be careful.”

“I’m starving Arbok.
You stay here and I’ll find something for us to eat,” Trunks told Arbok
and got up.
“Char,” Arbok hissed softly, getting up
too.
“You stay here. You’re still weak from battling that
bear,” Trunks said. Arbok shook its head, dropping the healing
leaves from its hood. “Huh?” Trunks gasped as he saw Arbok’s
wounds were all healed. “No animal can heal that fast. Wow,
you’re no ordinary snake,” Trunks chuckled. “Okay, you can come
with me,” he said happily and Arbok followed.
Trunks kept walking
around the forest with Arbok slithering beside him. “Geez. We
haven’t found anything,” Trunks said as he sank on the ground, too
tired to walk.
“Charbocka,” Arbok hissed gently as he wrapped
Trunks’ waist with his tail and putted him on his hood.
“All
right! Thanks Arbok,” Trunks said happily as he got on Arbok.
Trunks turned his head to the right and something caught his eye.
“Look, a pond!” he cried. “Arbok turn to your right,” he told
Arbok and he slithered to his right.
Trunks got off Arbok and ran
to the pond. He bent down and scooped up water with his
hands, drinking it. “Now it’s time to eat!” Trunks cried as he
took out a capsule from his pocket and threw it on the ground. It
turned into a little camping kit. “It’s a good thing that I brought
this with me,” he giggled. He opened the kit and it contained a
little lighter, a flash light, a rope, and other camping stuff.
“Hey Arbok, do you think you can catch a fish for me in that pond?”
he asked.
Arbok nodded saying “yes.” He putted the tip of
his tail in the pond, acting like a fishing rod. After a few moments
Arbok yanked his tail from the pond with a fish biting it. Trunks
quickly grabbed the fish and slammed it on the ground.
“All
right! Good work Arbok!” Trunks exclaimed. Trunks gathered
some wood and used his camping lighter to make a fire. He putted
a stick through the fish and began to roast it on the
fire.
***
“What is that?” Vegeta asked himself as he saw
smoke rising from the forest below while flying. “It’s probably
Trunks!” he exclaimed mentally and headed towards the
smoke.
***
“Hey this is good!” Trunks cried as he bit the
roasted fish. “Do you want some Arbok?” he asked. Arbok
nodded saying “no.” “Oh yeah. I forgot, reptiles don’t have to
eat as much as warm blooded animals,” he chuckled.
Trunks putted
the fire out that he made when he was done eating. He and Arbok were
about to leave the pond and then Vegeta came.
“Trunks, stay away
from that slithering reptile!” Vegeta yelled at Trunks.
“Huh?
Papa? Papa!” Trunks cried as he saw Vegeta land on the ground.
Vegeta powered up and aimed for Arbok. “Papa what do you think
you’re doing?” Trunks asked as he came between Vegeta and
Arbok.
“Get out of the way Trunks! Snakes are
dangerous! I don’t see why this one hasn’t attacked you yet!”
Vegeta growled, preparing to fire on Arbok. Trunks didn’t
move.
“Papa! No! This snake is my friend! He
helped me when I was attacked by a snake and a bear!”
“What?
That slithering reptile is your friend?” Vegeta said doubtly, powering
down.
“Yes Papa.”
Vegeta walked over to Trunks and hugged
him. “Why did you go to the forests without me or your
Mama? You’re lucky I found you,” Vegeta scolded.
“Well, I saw
Arbok and I followed him all the way here and then I got lost,”
Trunks explained.
“Arbok? Is that its
name?”
“Yes,” Trunks answered. “Can we keep him Papa?
Please?” Trunks begged and made a puppy face at Vegeta.
“Humph,
well, since this reptile helped you... Well, we’ll keep him,” Vegeta
said hesitantly.
“All right! Thanks Papa!” Trunks cried
happily as he hugged Vegeta tighter. Vegeta chuckled at Trunks
and looked at Arbok.
“How ironic, of all the creatures to help my
son... a snake? I’ve all ways been told that snakes
are treacherous, evil creatures,” Vegeta thought. “I feel that
there’s something different about that thing,” Vegeta told
Trunks.
“Me too. Arbok can shoot sharp objects and acid from
his mouth.”
“Oh well, we’ll get your Mama to examine him.
Come on Trunks, we better go back to the cabin,” Vegeta said as he let
go of Trunks.
“Come on Arbok,” Trunks called to Arbok.
“Ha
ha ha ha! Wasn’t that cute? Oh my, ha ha ha ha, Vegeta HUGGING
a kid?” a voice choked with laughter.
“Yes, ha ha ha ha, that’s
priceless!”
“Huh?” Vegeta gasped as he turned around and saw to
whom the voices belonged to.
