Chapter 3
“One thousand!” Vegeta shouted as he lay on the floor after his one thousandth sit-up. He was training under fifty times gravity. “Well, better pick up the pace or you’ll never reach Super Saiyan level,” he said to himself. As he got up, his stomach growled in hunger. “I could use some breakfast, it’s been five hours when I started training.” He turned to the clock and it’s 9:00 He walked out of the gravity room in his “almighty” posture, arms crossed, chest out, and the usual smirk was on his face.
He entered the kitchen and Bulma was there, reading a book while eating bacon and eggs. Vegeta just glared at her and turned to the fridge. He took out a smoked ham and some bread. He ripped the meat off from the ham with his fingers and putted it on the bread. Bulma frowned in confusion at Vegeta.
“What do you think you’re doing?” she asked, raising her left eyebrow.
“I’m making a sandwich,” he answered in his cold voice.
Bulma stood up and turned to the drawers and took out a knife. “Here, use this to cut the ham,” handing the knife to Vegeta. Vegeta just stared at the knife.
“Why use a puny sword to aid you when making a sandwich?” he asked, still staring at the knife.
“Oh, give it to me,” Bulma growled and took the knife from the Saiyan Prince. “Stand aside, I’ll show you how to make a sandwich, Earth style.” Bulma carefully cut the ham, not wanting to scratch the plastic container. She took a pair of bread and putted the ham between them. “And that’s how you make a sandwich.” Bulma handed the sandwich to Vegeta and sat down. Vegeta grabbed a plate from the dish rack and put his sandwich on it.
“You’re welcome,” Bulma said sarcastically and resumed her reading and breakfast. Vegeta just let out a “hmmphhh” and made fifteen more sandwiches the way Bulma taught him.
Bulma finally finished eating her breakfast but continued her reading. Vegeta sat across the table with twenty ham sandwiches on his plate. Unlike Gokou, he didn’t gobble them up like a pig, he ate them politely just like a prince and Bulma noticed that.
“So, why waste time reading books, woma... uh... Bulma?” he asked after finishing his fifth sandwich.
“It’s not a waste of time,” she spat.
“Bah! It’s a waste of time!” he spat back and grabbed another sandwich.
“Who asked you!” Bulma exploded and walked out of the room, annoyed with Vegeta. Vegeta just laughed to himself as she left the room.
Weeks passed by and the Capsule Corporation never got any silence since Vegeta and Bulma would argue every time their paths crossed.

“I’m telling you Chi Chi, he’s driving me nuts!” Bulma shouted as she stood up from the table in Chi Chi’s kitchen.
“You see, he enjoys it when he annoys you, and enjoys it more when you get pissed,” Chi Chi explained, calming her friend down who was panting like a dog in front of her.
“But why does he do it? I thought for sure when he was going to move in, he was just going to train in that gravity room I built,” Bulma said, sitting down, calming herself. Chi Chi giggled.
“I think, it’s either he wants attention for he’s lonely or...” Chi Chi giggled.
“Or what?”
“Or I think he likes you,” Chi Chi giggled again.
“What!!! How can you even say that! You know I already have Yamcha...,” she paused and remembered that she has a date with Yamcha tonight. “Oh my God! I totally forgot about that I have a date with him and I was also suppose to help mom out in the garden!” Bulma stood up and turned to her friend. “Do you think Vegeta really likes me?”
“Observe Bulma, you’ll know,” Chi Chi replied, waving to Bulma as she left.

“Whew, that’s the last of the daylilies,” Bulma told her mother. It was hot late in the afternoon, Bulma sat on a rock and wiped her forehead. Suddenly, she felt someone was watching her, it was Vegeta, staring at her from a window in his room. “Hey, mom you go back inside and have a break, I’ll finish the sages, they’re the last ones,” Bulma offered her mother. Mrs. Briefs went back inside, exhausted from gardening. “Now where is that tray of potted sages?”
“Why waste your time working with plants?” Vegeta asked in his cold voice who was now behind her.
“Aha!” Bulma whispered as she found the tray of sages, hidden behind some lilac bushes. She grabbed the tray of plants and turned to Vegeta. “Why do you care? Aren’t you suppose to be training?” Bulma replied in a cold voice.
“I’m just taking a break and decided to watch you work,” Vegeta chuckled. “Back on Vegeta, I always used to watch gardeners work from my room. You see, Vegeta is nothing but sand and rocks, or you humans would prefer to call desert. Only one kind of plant grew on Vegeta, a magnificent, blue flowering plant called Gentia. The other plants we had where from the other planets we conquered,” Vegeta said in a softer voice. Bulma listened to his whole story while planting the sages all together, forming a bush.
“Wow! That would have been great! Imagine, a garden of exotic plants,” Bulma said cheerfully as she got up and took off her gloves. “Hey check out the time! I have to get going now, I have a date with Yamcha,” gathering her gardening tools and ran back inside.
“Hmmph! She has date with that weakling boyfriend of hers. Well, I have to resume my training,” Vegeta told himself, flying back to his room.
