Chapter 6

Bulma ran downstairs to get Jean after she checked Vegeta’s forehead. “Granny! Granny!!
GRANNY!!!” she called out as she got to the kitchen.

“What are you yelling about? You almost gave me a heart attack,” Jean sighed with relief.

“It’s Vegeta, he’s here and I don’t think he’s well,” Bulma panted.

“Really? Let’s go upstairs and see,” Jean suggested and they went back upstairs.

“Go check his forehead, it’s warm,” Bulma said as they got to the room. Jean walked over to the
bed and putted her hand on Vegeta’s forehead. She paused for a minute and turned back to
Bulma.

“He’s not sick. He just passed out probably because of stress or grief.”

“Thank Kame he’s okay.”

“I have to hand it to you dear, you really know how to pick boys. Where did you meet this one?”

“I met him from a far away planet.”

“And you really know where to pick them too, huh?”

“Yeah.”

“I’ll go make some soup just in case he wakes up, okay?”

“Okay, thanks grandma.” Bulma watched her granny leave the room and then turned to Vegeta.
She pulled up a chair next to the bed and sat on it while watching Vegeta sleep. “Oh Vegeta,
what have you been doing to yourself these past few days? I have to know what made him pass
out like that but he won’t say though because his pride won’t let him. Hmm, maybe Chichi would
know, he’s been staying with her and Gokou,” she thought and got up to get the phone. She
dialled her friend’s number and waited for a signal. The phone was ringing and Bulma sighed
with relief. After two rings, someone picked up the phone, it was Chichi herself.

“Hello?!!! If it’s you Choazu, Gohan can’t talk, he has plenty of Math homework to do!!!” Chichi
snarled.

“Uh, Chichi, this is Bulma.”

“Oh sorry, I thought you were Choazu, he he he. Say, Bulma what’s up? How are things going
along? Are you doing okay?”

“Oh please Chichi, stop pretending as if you don’t know. You gave my address to Vegeta didn’t
you, because he’s here and you’re the only one who knows where I am aside from my parents.”

“Sorry Bulma but Vegeta was miserable. He doesn’t eat and sleep because he’s thinking about
you all the time.”

“It’s okay... Uh, I have to go now and watch over him.”

“Well, I also have to go and see if Gohan is doing his homework, not training with his father or
with that Piccolo. Good bye Bulma, take care and good luck.”

“Yeah, thanks. Good bye.” Bulma putted the phone away and turned back to Vegeta. She
stroked his hair gently while whispering words of love to him. Jean then came with a tray of
soup.

“There’s your soup dear,” she said, putting the tray down on a dresser.

“Grandma?”

“Yes Bulma?”

“I wasn’t expecting Vegeta to come here. What should I do when he wakes up? Should I let him
leave? If my dad comes here and sees him, I’ll just get into more trouble.”

“Before I answer your question, let me ask you one first. Do you love him?”

“Yeah, I love him more than anything but I don’t want to get into anymore trouble, my dad might
send me to another country or planet even.”

“All I can say is while he’s here, spend as much time as you can with him. You can’t just let him
go when he wakes up. He came here to see you and he would be devastated if you let him go.
So Bulma, enjoy your happy moments with him while you can. About your dad, I’ll talk to him
so don’t worry.”

“Thanks for the advice grandma and I hope you can convince dad to like Vegeta.”

“Don’t worry Bulma, if I won’t convince him, love will, love conquers all. I’ll leave you two
now.”

“Okay, good night.” Bulma watched her grandma leave the room and turned back to Vegeta.
“Good night Vegeta,” she whispered and kissed him on the cheek. She sat on the chair and fell
asleep as well.

The night soon passed and Bulma was awakened by the song of birds and by the rays of the sun
touching her face. She opened her eyes while moaning to herself and found Vegeta still sleeping
on her bed. She got up from her chair and kissed Vegeta lightly on the cheek. Bulma was about
to leave her room but she heard Vegeta groan and raced back to him.

Vegeta slowly opened his eyes and found Bulma staring at him. He sat up on the bed and smirked
at her. “Vegeta!” Bulma exclaimed happily and jumped on him, knocking him down.

“I’m glad that you’re happy to see me. I thought you might be mad that I came here while
knowing you’re not suppose to see me,” Vegeta smirked, putting Bulma beside him. The two sat
up and faced each other.

“No, I’m not mad, I’m really happy to see you. Say, why won’t we go downstairs and eat
breakfast. After that, we’ll spend the day with each other, just two of us. What do you say?”

“What exactly do you have in mind for us to do?”

“Well, we can swim around the lake at the back and there are some places I want to show you.”

“Sounds good.”

“Okay then, come on let’s go.” The two headed down to the kitchen and found Jean cooking
beacon and eggs. “Hi grandma!,” Bulma greeted.

“Hi dear,” Jean greeted back, turning away from the stove and facing Bulma and Vegeta. “Oh,
he’s awake!”

“Yeah. Grandma, this is Vegeta. Vegeta that’s Jean, my grandma.”

“Nice to meet you Vegeta,” Jean chuckled and offered her hand for a handshake.

“Uh, nice to meet... you too,” Vegeta replied and shook hands with her.

“Is breakfast ready grandma?” Bulma asked.

“Yes, it’s ready. I’ll go set up the table,” Jean answered and putted plates, glasses, forks and
spoons, and the food on the table with Bulma’s help.

“Hey Vegeta, it’s ready,” Bulma told him, who was just standing on the alcove. Vegeta took a
seat and they began to eat.

“What are you two going to do today?” Jean asked after they finished eating.

“Nothing much, we’ll swim around the lake and go around the country,” Bulma answered.

“Is that so? Well, you better get going then.”

“Okay, we will.” Bulma and Vegeta got up from their chairs and exited the kitchen while waving
good bye to the old woman.

“Young love, sweet love. I wish I was young...” Jean sighed to herself as the two left.
