“He’s still sleeping, the battle must have been really intense,” Bulma thought as she peeked
through the door and saw Vegeta sleeping peacefully on the bed.

“Bulma, we’ll go now.  Chi Chi is probably worried sick,” Gokou cried from the hall.

“Okay Gokou, be careful,” Bulma said as she turned to him.  She escorted the Sons all the way to
the door and waved good bye as they flew away.

“Is Papa awake yet?” Trunks asked Bulma from behind.

“No, he’s still sleeping.  Now, go to your room and sleep,” Bulma told him.

“Okay,” he answered and went to his room with Arbok.

Bulma went to their room and Vegeta was still sleeping.  She changed into her night gown and
went to her side of the bed.  “Good night Vegeta,” she whispered, kissing him on the cheek and
went to sleep.

“Papa/Vegeta!” voices screamed in the darkness.

“Ha ha ha ha ha!  You’re next!” a dark figure called out.  The figure walked out of the darkness,
rendering himself, it was Freeza.

“Freeza?  It can’t be?  You’re dead!” Vegeta gasped.  “Huh?”  Vegeta woke up from his dream
and sat up.  “It was just a dream...” he assured himself.  He turned to his right and saw Bulma
sleeping peacefully.  He rubbed her face with his hand.  He then bent down and kissed her cheek
and whispered, “I love you.”  Vegeta got up and went to Trunks’ room.

Vegeta saw Trunks sleeping peacefully, wrapped in his blanket.  He looked at the floor and saw
Arbok sleeping, all coiled up.

“Thank goodness this snake was out there.  If it wasn’t for him, who knows what might have
happened to Trunks when he got lost,” Vegeta thought and walked over to Trunks.  “Nice
dreams my little warrior,” he whispered and kissed his forehead.

Vegeta exited Trunks’ room and went outside.  “Wow, it sure is bright tonight.”  The stars were
shining brightly, making the sky look bright even though the moon was gone.  Vegeta walked
over to a tree and sat down, curling himself into a tight ball.

“Wow, this planet sure is beautiful,” he thought as he looked at the lake and the forest, they were
practically shining because of the bright sky above.  “Living here is not so bad.  I got a beautiful
wife, my queen, my Bulma.  I thought I have lost you when Ginyu shot your plane down.  And
Trunks, my son, prince of Saiyans, the rightful heir of my throne.  You fought so bravely when
you needed to.  And that snake, Arbok, I’m beginning to think that’s he part of this family.  Aahh,
yes, my family, they’re the reason why I was spared from our race’s extinction.  I can’t live
without them and I’ll protect them, no matter what the cost is,” Vegeta thought deeply.  He got
up and went back inside.  He went to their room and lay on his side of the bed.  He gasped as
Bulma turned around and curled around him, resting her head on his chest.

“What a great vacation this is...” she mumbled in her sleep.

“Sleep tight my queen,” he whispered and kissed her on the forehead.

“Vegeta?  You’re awake,” Bulma said groggily, sitting up.

“Go back to sleep.”

“Did you find something to eat in the fridge?” Bulma asked.

“What do you mean?” Vegeta said, sitting up.

“I heard the door creak awhile ago.  I thought you got up to get something to eat.  I didn’t bother
getting up since I know you can fix your own food.”

“I didn’t go to the kitchen.  I went outside for fresh air and to think.”

“Think about what?”

“My life here on Earth and my life with you and Trunks.”

“What did you think?”

“I guess I figured why I’m still alive unlike the other Saiyans.  I was spared to live here with you
and Trunks.  You two are the best gifts given to me.”  With that, Vegeta cupped her chin and
kissed her passionately, like he poured all of his spirit and passion into that kiss.
