Chapter 28

Vegeta went back to the shore and sighed to himself. “Come on, let’s go...” he told everyone
quietly and they started to walk back to the Highwind.

“Vegeta?” Chunli asked while walking.

“Yes?”

“That little speech you gave... I never knew...”

“The kid reminded me of what was I like in the past except I was worse. I saw myself in him.
The only difference between the two of us is that I was given a chance to live a better life but he
didn’t. He deserves a chance to live a better life like I did...”

“You’re right...” Their conversation was interrupted as a beeping sound was heard. Rick reached
for his pocket and pulled out a cell phone. He answered it and then handed it to Chunli.

“It’s the Interpol,” Rick said.

“Hello? This is Chunli,” the femme fatale greeted on the phone. “What? Uh-huh... okay... we’ll
get there ASAP... bye.”

“What was that all about?” Cloud asked.

“It was the Interpol, they said they have located the third base...”

“Where is it then?”

“It’s in the abandoned city of Midgar and it gets worse. The canon in Midgar is now operational
and it’s building a massive amount of energy.”

“What?!!!” Cloud exclaimed.

“We have to get there before they have a chance to use that cannon... whatever they’re planning to
do with it.”

“Enough chit chat! Let’s go and kick some butt,” Vegeta growled.

“Yeah, you’re right. We can’t waste anytime,” Cloud agreed and they began to run.

***

“We’re here everybody!” Cloud announced while piloting the Highwind. “The walls of the city
will make it impossible for us to enter so we have to parachute down.” Cloud turned to a closet
and pulled out parachute bags. “Here,” he said, handing everyone a bag, except Vegeta since he
can fly.

“Stop moving Arbok,” Vegeta grunted while putting Arbok’s bag.

“Need some help?” Chunli giggled.

“No,” he snarled. “Arr... there. It’s on.”

“Has everyone putted their parachute bags on?” Cloud asked.

“Yeah,” everyone answered.

“I’ll just put the Highwind on auto-pilot and then we’ll head to the deck and jump,” Cloud said,
turning to the control board and started to push a bunch of buttons. “It’s done let’s go.” Cloud
lead them to the deck and below them was Midgar.

“What a city...” Dennis gasped.

“What are you waiting for?” Vegeta growled and flew down.

“Here we go!” Cloud cried and jumped off the deck and then everyone followed.

It took them at least a minute to land and they took off their parachutes when they did. “Guys,
incoming soldiers,” Chunli panicked as she saw soldiers heading their way.

“Arbok, Cloud, Dennis, Vincent, you guys keep the soldiers busy while we take out that cannon,”
Vegeta told them.

“What?” Vincent snarled.

“Vincent... there’s no time to argue,” Dennis groaned. “Go you guys, we’ll hold the army as long
as we can.”

“Good luck,” Rick smiled and ran off with Vegeta and Chunli.

“Look, see those long stairs? Those will lead us to that cannon,” Vegeta said while running.

***

“These stairs take forever...” Chunli panted.

“We’re here,” Rick replied as they reached the top. As they got there, they saw Dr. Gero
pressing a bunch of buttons on a control board.

“The cannon is 75% functional,” Dr. Gero whispered to himself.

“What are you planning to do now?!!! And what is this cannon for?!!!” Rick demanded.

“Humph, I’ll tell you. This cannon is gathering energy right now. It will fire the energy it
gathered at Fort Condor where Cell is, who’s waiting for this energy,” Dr. Gero explained.

“What?”

“GYA HA HA HA HAA! This energy will turn Cell into “Perfect” Cell, making him unstoppable.
Once that’s done taking over the world and crushing you would be a synch.”

“The Mako cannon is fully functional,” the computer announced.

“EXCELLENT! MWA HA HA HA HAAA! The cannon will be fired in a few minutes!”

“Oh no it won’t!” Rick snarled.

“Ha! I’ve wanted to fight you for a LONG time and now is my chance,” Dr. Gero growled and
slowly transformed into a giant, green goblin with long arms, dangling all the way to his feet.

“Shit! He’s huge!” Rick exclaimed.

“BWA HA HA HAAAA! Feel my wrath and fury!” he cackled as he fired eye beams.

Vegeta took to the air and went Super Saiyan while Chunli and Rick jumped away.

“Big Bang Attack!” Vegeta yelled and fired the gigantic, blue ki ball.

“Pathetic!” Dr. Gero snorted and tossed the attack away with his arm.

“How do you beat this thing?” Rick asked.

“I don’t know,” Chunli replied.

“Watch out!” Rick cried as Dr. Gero stroke his arm at them.

“Kikoshou!” Chunli yelled and a big, blue sphere of energy engulfed her and Rick, protecting
them from Dr. Gero’s arm and inflicting damage at the same time. Dr. Gero’s arm couldn’t take
the damage anymore and it exploded.

“You’ll pay for that!” Dr. Gero brought his other arm up, gathering energy.

“Oh no you don’t!” Vegeta growled and brought his hand in the air, forming a Destructo Disc.
He threw it at the monster’s arm and it was cutted in half. “Humph, he’s un-armed, it’s time to
finish him off!” he told himself. Vegeta powered up and putted his hands forward and fired a big,
blue beam. “Final Flaaassshhh!”

The powerful beam went through Dr. Gero’s stomach and he shrunk back to his normal size.
Vegeta flew back to floor and walked to Dr. Gero. “Time to die you son of a bitch!” he growled
as he folded his thumb on his palm, preparing to do a Big Bang.

“Go ahead and finish me because you’re too late... the cannon is preparing to fire...” the mad
scientist gasped in pain. The Mako cannon began to glow and it fired a huge beam towards Fort
Condor.

***

Cell was on top of a pole at Fort Condor, waiting for the energy that Dr. Gero promised him.
“It’s here,” he smirked as he saw something shining in the horizon.

***

“Why you little...” Vegeta growled and fired a Big Bang on the injured Dr. Gero, incinerating
him.

“We’re in a lot of trouble,” Chunli said.

“You can say that again,” Cloud panted as he arrived with the others.

“We saw the cannon...” Dennis added between pants.

“What are we going to do now?” Rick asked.

“We must find and defeat Cell before he goes on a rampage,” Cloud said.

“I don’t think we need to find him because here he comes!” Dennis cried, pointing at Cell in the
sky.
