Chapter 19

Vegeta and company were walking around the forest, looking for one of the two remaining bases
of the Red Ribbon Army.

“Are you sure we’re heading the right way Cloud?” Chunli asked.

“I’m positive that we’re heading the right way,” Cloud answered.

“How come we’re not there yet then?!!” Vegeta snarled.

“Didn’t you hear what I said? It might take us a day or two to reach the base, it’s located deep in
these forests.”

“Guys! Don’t move!” Dennis cried. “Someone is here!”

“Ha ha ha ha! You are so right!” Tseng cackled as he appeared behind them with the other
Turks.

“It’s pay back time,” Elena chuckled.

“Arrr...” Brass growled silently and glared at them.

Chunli noticed Brass’ actions and looked at him curiously.

“Hey Tseng, look, the specimen that escaped is with them,” Reno said.

“Arrr... You’ll pay for what you did to my people!” Brass snarled and charged at them but
Vegeta stopped him.

“You can’t beat all of them,” Vegeta scolded.

“Oh yes I can, watch me. I swore to destroy these people on behalf of my clan so out of my way!
They’re all mine!” The Kogan ninja pushed the Saiyan Prince out of his way and approached the
Turks. “On behalf of the Kogan Ninja Clan, I, Strider Brass shall kill all of you,” he said.

“This should be interesting,” Tseng chuckled sinisterly and then fired a blast of flame with his
hands (flamethrower).

Brass jumped quickly to the air with Vaporeon, avoiding the flamethrower attack and they
disappeared.

“Where did they go?!!!” Elena panicked.

“Arctic Attack!” Ice stones began to fall out of the sky. With the ice stones distracting them,
Brass appeared behind them and fired ice beams. He missed them though, except for Rude and
was frozen into a block of ice.

“He froze Rude!” Elena gasped.

“And you’re next!” Brass yelled. He folded his thumb, ring finger, and pinkie. At the tip of his
index and middle fingers, a small ring of fire was formed. He jumped high in the air and fired the
fire ring at the Turks. The fire ring multiplied into eleven and increased in size. “Spinning Flare!”

“Whoa! This guy uses his ki to summon elemental attacks, a totally different technique,” Chunli
told Vegeta.

“Uh-huh,” the Saiyan Prince nodded.

Brass’ Spinning Flares got Elena and she was burned to death. “Burn in the fires of Strider
Brass,” the Kogan ninja whispered as Elena died.

“ELENA!” Tseng cried. Brass turned around and saw Reno charging at him with a metal rod.
When Reno was five feet away from him, Brass slammed his left fist on the ground and a blast of
water erupted from the impact.

“Hydro Column!” Reno was launched to the air and Brass went after him. He took out his
orange staff and jammed it through Reno’s stomach. Brass took out his staff from Reno’s
stomach and blood began to fly everywhere as the dead Turk began to fall to the ground. Brass
jumped back to the ground and turned to Rude, he kicked the block of ice and it was smashed
into tiny pieces like glass.

“Humph, that was too easy,” the ninja chuckled to himself.

“This one is for you Elena!” Tseng cried with a sob.

“What the hell?” Brass asked himself and turned around and the next thing he knew he was
punched on the face and was sent flying to a tree.

“Ha! That’s what he gets for not keeping his eyes on the enemy!” Vincent scoffed.

“Should we help him?” Dennis asked everyone.

“Wait,” Vegeta answered.

“That was one strong punch,” Brass groaned as he got up. He saw Tseng raising his hands in the
air, preparing to finish him off.

“Time to finish you off! Beta Attac... aaahhhh!!!” A big, shining beam (aurora beam) was fired
on him and he was blasted to kingdom come. A puddle of water appeared in front of Brass and it
transformed into Vaporeon.

“Thanks pal,” Brass said to the water canine, rubbing his head.

“Vaporeon,” Vaporeon squealed at him.

“Not bad kid,” Vegeta chuckled.

“Are you okay?” Chunli asked worriedly.

“Man, that punch on the face worked you out...” Cloud said.

“It wasn’t the punch, our comrade here doesn’t take hits pretty well,” Vincent interjected.

“Uh, guys, it’s getting dark. We better stop and settle here for the night,” Dennis suggested.

“Oh! I forgot to give you these.” Vegeta reached for his pocket and took out four capsules.
“Only two people can stay in each house.” He threw the capsules on the ground and they
transformed into houses.

“Wow, where did you get those?” Chunli gasped.

“My wife, she invents them.”

“I never knew such things existed.”

“Well, you do now.” Vegeta turned around and was about to enter his capsule house but Chunli
stopped him.

“Hey guys, when it’s dark, why won’t we eat around a camp fire?” she asked everyone.

“Sure sounds like fun,” everyone replied in unison. Vegeta then went to his capsule house with
Arbok.

“Uh, let see, there’s three houses left. Me and Vincent will stay on one house. Chunli, you and
Rick can have one and Cloud, that leaves you with Brass and Vaporeon,” Dennis told his
comrades.

“Okay,” the others nodded and went to their capsule houses to rest.

It was dark, everyone was outside, sitting around a bonfire. “Bonfires are funny aren’t they?
They make you remember all sorts of things,” Cloud said to everyone.

“Hmmm, this fire reminds me of the time when I blew up Arlia,” Vegeta thought.

“Excuse me for a second,” Brass said and then got up and walked away with Vaporeon.

“Where does he think he’s going?” Rick asked.

“I don’t know,” Chunli shrugged.

“I’ll go get him,” Vegeta said and got up and went after the young ninja.

Brass was on an edge of a cliff, sitting down and he was looking at the stars with Vaporeon.
“Don’t worry Vaporeon, each day we’re getting near to Dr. Gero. When we do get him, my clan
will be avenged and they can fully rest in peace,” he told him.

“Why did you leave us?” Vegeta asked as he appeared behind him on his usual pose, arms crossed
and the usual smirk was on his face.

“I don’t know... ah, it’s nothing.”

“Really?”

“Yeah.”

“I think something is bothering you.”

“Why, do you care?”

“No, I just think I know what’s bothering you. You don’t feel comfortable around us since we’re
not ninjas like you. You haven’t been with people that aren’t ninjas, haven’t you? You feel like
you’re all alone, since you’re with different people. But everyone is different, all of us are
different from each other so there’s no need to feel different and isolate yourself from us. Let me
tell you something.” Vegeta then told him his experience about living on Earth, how he felt being
around humans and the loneliness he felt since he was different from everyone. “... you see kid, I
know where you stand,” he finished.

“I guess so,” Brass nodded.

“Come on kid, let’s go back with the others. Don’t worry, you’ll get use to us... eventually.”

“Fine, if you say so,” Brass sighed, getting up.

“One question kid, do you ever take off your mask?”

“Do you ever stop crossing your arms?” the ninja chuckled.

“No,” the Saiyan Prince smirked.

“And I don’t take off my mask either, well, I do sometimes, not in front of people.” The two
walked out of the cliff and back to the forests and joined the others.
