Chapter 17
It’s been two weeks since Rick and Chunli were left at Gongaga. During that time, Chunli has
just been sitting beside Rick, watching over him.
“Rick, when are you going to wake up?” she sighed hopelessly.
“I’m surprised that you’ve stayed here for two weeks now. He’s truly lucky with friends like
you,” the doctor said as he entered the hut.
“BOOM!”
“What was that?!!!” Chunli gasped.
“It sounded like an explosion.”
“Stay here, I’ll be right back,” Chunli told the doctor and ran outside. She found two robotic
humans terrorizing the village (Androids 14, 15).
“Who are you? Leave this village alone!” she ordered.
“Hey #14, it’s her,” #15 said.
“Yeah, let’s get her,” #14 replied and they charged at Chunli.
#14 fired a laser at Chunli but she deflected it with a mini-kikoshou. “I have to defend this village
and Rick no matter what,” Chunli thought and charged at them.
#15 took to the air while #14 kept firing lasers at Chunli. Chunli dodged each one effortlessly and
when she was close enough to #14, she did Kikoshou. #14 was sucked in the blue sphere of
energy like dirt being vacuumed. Chunli found #14 still standing when she stopped her attack.
“He was barely scratched...” she panted. “These two are too strong for me.”
#14 charged at Chunli again but stopped when a beam of ice came between them. The android
looked to his left and found a young man dressed in a green gi. “Who are you?” he demanded.
“I’m Strider Brass. Prepare to die android,” the young man replied. Brass charged at #14 at an
amazing speed and knocked him over with a sweep kick. He jumped high in the air and fired ice
beams with his arm mounted gun on his right arm. #14’s legs were frozen to the ground and was
unable to move. “Time to die,” he chuckled as he took out an orange rod.
“Not so fast!” #15 growled as he appeared behind Brass and punched him on the back. With that
punch, Brass was sent flying across the village. “He maybe fast but he doesn’t take hits pretty
well, what a wuss,” #15 laughed and freed #14.
“Come let’s finish him off,” #14 chuckled and they charged at Brass.
Brass shook his head and got up and saw the androids charging at him. “Time to die...
aaaahhhh!” the androids screamed, a beam of ice was fired on their backs. Brass jumped away
from the androids and aimed his gun arm at them.
“Arctic Attack!” he yelled and fired ice stones from his gun arm. #15 managed to avoid them but
#14 didn’t, he was frozen solid. A puddle of water appeared beside Brass and it slowly
transformed into a blue, dog-like creature. “Okay Vaporeon, let’s finish him! Ice Beam!” Brass
told the creature. Brass fired an ice beam from his gun arm and Vaporeon fired one from his
mouth but #15 quickly dodged the ice beams and glared at them.
“Arrr... Don’t you think you won kid just because you froze my partner! I’ll be back with more
and stronger androids!” #15 growled. With that said, he flew away.
“Oh...” Brass winced and sank on the ground.
“Vapor?” Vaporeon whined at his master.
“I’m okay. Come on, let’s finish the other guy,” he said, trying to get up but he couldn’t.
“Leave that to me,” Chunli said. She approached the frozen android and stood on one foot.
“Senretsu Kyaku!” Chunli’s powerful, rapid kicks broke the android into pieces like glass.
“There, he won’t be hurting anyone. Who are you?” Chunli asked the tan haired young man.
“I’m Strider Brass.”
“I’m...”
“I know who you are.”
“What?”
“I’ll explain... aahh,” he winced.
“You took a bad hit on the back. There’s a doctor in the village, come with me.”
“No, thanks. I’ll go now.” Brass got up with the help of his stick but he fell on the ground.
“I told you to let me help you,” Chunli said. She tried to help him up but Vaporeon came
between them.
“Vaporeon...” Vaporeon growled at the female warrior.
“Down Vaporeon, she’s just trying to help.”
“Would you let me help you now?”
“Yes,” Brass answered. Chunli helped him up. Brass putted his left arm on Chunli’s shoulder for
support and they walked back to Rick’s hut with Vaporeon following them.

Brass was tended by the doctor after the fight. He and Chunli were watching over Rick, who
hasn’t wake up yet. Chunli turned to Brass and decided to talk.
“After the fight, you told me that you know me. Is that right?” Chunli asked Brass.
“Yes. I have been watching over you, and the others,” Brass answered.
“Ugh... This guy has been following us secretly all along,” Chunli thought and made a gesture at
Brass to keep talking.
“You know back at Fort Major? All of those dead soldiers?”
“Yes?”
“I killed them. I’m also the one who triggered the alarms back at the Metro base, and I’m also
the one who froze the Red Ribbon Army’s main base.”
“You mean, you’re after the Red Ribbon Army too?”
“Yes.”
“Why didn’t you join us?”
“I didn’t know if I could trust you.”
“Why are you after them anyway?”
“It’s a long story.”
“Tell me, I’d like to hear it.”
“You see, I’m a ninja from the Koga Ninja Clan. Me and my people lived in the forests peacefully
until the Red Ribbon Army decided to build their main base there. They attacked our village and
we were no match for their weaponry. They took all of us as prisoners. You know Dr. Gero?”
“Yes.”
“He turned my people into fighter zombies so he can control them and get them to do the army’s
dirty work. Those ninjas in black gi that you fought before were my people.”
“Oh, I’m so sorry...”
“It’s okay, it’s not your fault, it’s Dr. Gero’s. I wasn’t turned into a zombie because they used me
for another experiment. They were testing these guns that can generate elemental energy. What
they did is, they cutted my right arm off and grafted a gun on. The one I have can generate ice.
They were going to make these for their soldiers.”
“If you were a prisoner, how did you escape?”
“You see, this gun arm is remote controlled. When test sessions are over, Dr. Gero deactivates it.
Fortunately, I know technology. When Dr. Gero and his scientists weren’t looking, I snatched
some equipment from his lab. When they took me away since test sessions were over, I
reprogrammed my gun arm so only I can control it. With that done, I escaped using their very
own weapon. When I was escaping, I came across Vaporeon, locked up in glass cage. He’s
probably one of Dr. Gero’s crazy experiments. I freed him and we escaped together. From that
point on, Vaporeon has always been with me.
“I see. You’re after Dr. Gero for revenge.”
“Yes. I swore to myself that I would destroy Red Ribbon Army and Dr. Gero and I thought that
would be easy with Vaporeon’s help. I managed to destroy Fort Major, their base in the Metro
Forests, and their main base. They still have three more bases but I can’t destroy those alone with
Vaporeon.”
“Why?”
“Dr. Gero has created androids, those were the guys we fought and they’re strong... Uh, I think I
better get going now.”
“Um, wait. Please join with us. We could use your help. Right now, I’m alone here with Rick
and if more androids come, I can’t defend Rick and the people of this village against them.”
“You actually want me to stay with you?”
“Yes. Why? What’s wrong?”
“Uh... nothing. Fine I’ll stay here.”
“Thanks... Brass,” Chunli smiled.
