Chapter 16
“RIIIIIIICCCCCCKKKKKK!” Chunli yelled. “Come on, where are you?” Chunli sank on the
ground and began to cry. The others arrived and looked at her hopelessly. Cloud approached
Chunli and putted his hand on her shoulder.
“Uh, don’t worry Chunli. I’m sure he’s all right,” Cloud said.
“I wonder where he could be...”
“We’ll find him, don’t worry. We’re here for you, we’re all in this together.”
“Thanks Cloud,” she sniffed and got up.
“You’re welcome. Come on, Gongaga is just a few minutes away from here. The river flows to
that village, maybe Rick washed up there.”
“Yeah let’s go.” They continued to walk and got to Gongaga in no time. Gongaga was a small
village composed of small huts. At the back of the village was the river and a torn power plant.
“Uh, you guys can walk around and ask if they found Rick or something while I’ll get those parts
for the Highwind okay?” Cloud told everyone.
“Okay guys let’s split up,” Dennis suggested. “Vincent and I will cover the left side of the village
and Vegeta, you cover the right side with Arbok and Chunli.
“Sure,” Vegeta nodded and turned to Chunli. “Hey Chunli, let’s go find Rick,” he said. Chunli
wasn’t paying attention to him, she was eavesdropping to two men talking behind them.
“How’s the guy doing?” the man asked the other.
“I don’t know, he’s in a bad shape.”
“You know, I think I’ve seen him before.”
“Where?”
“I can’t quite remember. A-ha! I know now, he’s that millionaire from Metro City.”
“What?!!! That guy can’t be Rick Capcom, why is he here?”
Chunli then appeared in front of them. “Where is he?!!” she demanded.
“Where is who?”
“Where is Rick?!!!”
“Oh, at the hut near the river,” they answered. With that Chunli ran away with Vegeta and
Arbok. When she got there, she stormed in the hut and found Rick laying on a bed, unconscious,
with a doctor tending him.
“Rick?” Chunli gasped.
“Excuse me, do you know him?” the doctor asked.
“Yes, we’re his friends,” Vegeta answered.
“You’re his friends, eh? That’s good. You see, your friend here has four broken ribs and his
right arm is broken too. He also just had ten stitches on his head. What happened to him?”
“He fell down the rapids upstream,” Vegeta replied.
“Whoa! He’s lucky that those big rocks in the rapids didn’t crush him.”
“Doctor, when is he going to wake up?” Chunli asked.
“I don’t know...”
Chunli looked at Rick hopelessly and began to cry on his chest. “Rick... no... This can’t be
happening to you... This is just too cruel...” she sobbed, soaking Rick’s shirt with her tears.
“Come on, let’s leave them,” the doctor told Vegeta and they went outside.

“What?!!! Four broken ribs?!!!” Cloud exploded as Vegeta told him what happened to Rick.
“Chunli’s been there for hours, is she okay?” Dennis asked worriedly. Chunli then stepped out of
the hut and wiped her tears away.
“Are you okay?” they all asked.
“Yeah. Um, guys, there’s something I need to tell you...” Chunli started
“What?”
“I’m staying here with Rick until he recovers,” she finished.
“We understand that,” Cloud smiled.
“Take care okay? We’ll come back here and check up on you two like once a week,” Dennis
said.
“Thanks you guys,” Chunli sniffed and waved good bye as her comrades left.
