Chapter 5
“Whew, that was close. Is
everyone okay?” Cloud sighed to Vegeta and Chunli as he turned away
from the steering wheel.
“Yeah, thanks. What is your name
again?” Chunli asked.
“I’m Cloud, Cloud Strife. Who are you
two?” Cloud answered.
“I’m Chunli and that guy is Vegeta,” Chunli
said with a smile.
“Friends?”
“No, we just met each other
back there. Why would you want to work for the Red Ribbon
Army anyway?”
“Well, one day I got this letter that was offering
a job and it said it pays good so I came there to check it out.
Everyone needs money you know. What about you two, what were you
doing there?”
Vegeta came up to them and told his story and
Chunli told hers as well.
“Wait a second, you told me you were
there to find someone, who were you going to find again?” Vegeta
asked.
“I’m looking for a certain scientist, Bison’s head
scientist. He’s the only member of Shadowloo that hasn’t been
caught.”
“The who?” Cloud asked, clueless.
“Shadowloo, the
criminal organization that Bison ran. They were involved in everything
that was illegal,” Chunli explained.
“Well, you two are after
the Red Ribbon Army, right?”
“Yes,” Vegeta nodded.
“Not me,
I’m just after Bison’s scientist.”
“Well, I’m after The
Turks. I have to settle an old score with them,” Cloud
said.
“What happened between you and them?” Vegeta
asked.
“Nothing much, but they worked for a company that the rebel
group I was in against. Since then, we’ve been mortal enemies so
I’m coming with you Vegeta,” Cloud said.
“Fine,” Vegeta
replied.
“Are you with us Chunli?” Cloud asked.
“Well... oh
what the hell... I’m coming, but once I get my hands on Bison’s scientist,
I’m gone,” Chunli answered.
“Wow, this reminds me of old times,”
Cloud thought and then found Vegeta and Chunli staring at him.
“What?” he asked defensively.
“Who killed all of those soldiers
back at the base?” Chunli asked.
“I don’t know... I was told
to wait in the 65th floor for someone to welcome me to the army
and when I got there, I just saw all of these soldiers laying around...
dead,” Cloud answered.
“Whoever killed those soldiers must have a
lot of stealth and speed on his side,” Chunli sighed.
“Yeah.
Anyway, where are we going to go now?”
“Well, I really don’t know,”
Chunli said, rolling her eyes.
“Before we figure that out, why
won’t we find a town and eat or something” Cloud suggested.
“Okay,
but this better not take long,” Vegeta answered.
Cloud walked to
the steering wheel to pilot the ship and said, “The nearest town is
Jeremy, it would just take us ten minutes to get
there.”

After ten minutes:
“Okay guys, prepare
for landing,” Cloud announced. Cloud pushed a bunch of buttons on
the control board and they could feel the Highwind descending from the
sky. A thud was heard as the Highwind landed outside of the
town. “We’re here!” Cloud said.
“Wow, you’re a pretty good
pilot,” Chunli complimented with a smile.
“Who wouldn’t be if you
were taught by the greatest pilot of the world?”
“Why, who taught
you to fly?”
“What?!!! You don’t know who he
is?”
“Just tell us who your damn teacher was,” Vegeta
snapped.
“A man named Cid, Cid Highwind. In fact this airship
belongs to him and it’s named after him, the Highwind.”
“What
are you doing with it then?” Chunli asked.
“I just borrowed it to
get to Fort Major,” Cloud answered. “Come on, let’s go.” Cloud
led Vegeta, Arbok, and Chunli to the deck and got off the airship and
found themselves in the plains.
“Wow, it is nice and windy out
here,” Chunli said as she could feel the gentle breeze sweep against
her.
They began to walk and got to Jeremy in no time. Jeremy
looked like one of those cowboy towns, a few buildings and most of them
were bars and not too many people were around. They continued to
walk, looking for a decent place to eat in and then they heard some
fighting noises. They ran to the fight and saw a man dressed in pink
and another man dressed in black fighting Tseng and Rude of The
Turks.
