Chapter 3

“Where am I?” Vegeta asked himself, he found himself in a room with Chunli and Arbok.

“Humph, you’re awake,” Chunli said.

“No prison cell would hold me,” Vegeta growled and stood up.  He fired a beam at the door but
he didn’t even scratch it.  “What the?”

“The whole room is coated with some sort of substance that can withstand energy beams so don’t
bother blasting your way out,” Chunli told him.

Vegeta sank on the floor and sighed to himself.

“Tell me, why are you here?  If you tell me your story, I’ll tell mine,”  Chunli said with a smile.

“Okay fine.”

It all began two days ago.  I just got home from sparring with a man named Kakarott.  “He he he,
Kakarott will be spending some time in the hospital,” I thought as I landed on the porch.  I
entered the building and noticed it was quiet, too quiet.  My wife should be yelling at some lazy
employees and my son should be running around the building with Arbok.  “Bulma, Trunks, I’m
home!” I yelled but there was no answer.  I then went to our bedroom to rest and I saw a piece of
paper on the bed.  It said, “If you want to see your wife and son back, go to Fort Major, which is
this place, signed Red Ribbon Army.”  I then heard some banging noise in my son’s room.  I ran
to his room and the noise came from his closet.  I opened the closet and saw Arbok trapped in a
net.

“You actually have a family?” Chunli laughed.

“Shut up!”  Vegeta reached for his pocket and took out a picture of the whole family.  “Here, see
for yourself,” he growled, throwing the picture to Chunli.

Chunli stared at the picture for seconds.  All of them were sitting on a couch, Vegeta was in the
center, to his right was Bulma, and to his left was Trunks and Arbok.  “Cute kid,” Chunli
complimented and threw the picture back to Vegeta.

“I came here to rescue my family.  Now it’s your turn to tell your story,” Vegeta said.

***

It all started when I was a teenager.  My father worked for Interpol to track down a criminal
master mind, M. Bison.  My father found him and fought him but he lost and got killed.  I trained
really hard to defeat Bison, to avenge my father.  I learned Wushu from father’s friend, a man
named Gen.  Unfortunately, my training wasn’t enough.  When I found Bison, we fought and lost
too.  I should consider myself lucky because he didn’t kill me.  After the fight, I trained with a guy
named Ryu.  I knew learning the chi from him would make me strong and it did.  I trained with
him for a year and I got myself an awesome power and a boyfriend.

***

“Wait a second.  Is this the guy you were talking about back in the sewer?” Vegeta interrupted.

“Yes,” Chunli answered, blushing.

***

Not only Ryu helped me learn chi, but he also helped me destroy Bison.  After that, I returned to
a normal life.  Life with Ryu was great but... but...

***

“Don’t stop, go on.”

“Okay.”

***

We broke up a couple of months later.  The guy doesn’t think of anything except fighting, it
seems all he cares about is getting stronger.  We broke up in one of our dates.  We were suppose
to meet each other in a restaurant one night.  I waited and waited but he never showed up.  When
I was walking back home from the restaurant, I saw him fighting a bunch of ninjas in the street.  I
was so mad and I told him he can forget about me.  Since that night, we never spoke to each
other.

***

“Humph, this sounds familiar,” Vegeta snorted.

“What do you...”

“BOOM!”

“What the hell was that?” Chunli gasped, getting up.

“The explosion is not far from here,” Vegeta said, getting up too.

“We better get out of here.”

“Hmmm, you said energy beams won’t affect this room right?”

“Uh huh,” Chunli nodded.

“Arbok, fire acid on the door,” Vegeta told Arbok.

“Char,” Arbok nodded.  Vegeta and Chunli backed away from the door and Arbok fired acid at it,
it melted.

“What the?” Vegeta and Chunli gasped as they stepped out of the room.  The hall was full of
blood and there were dead bodies of soldiers laying around.
